What up fellas, ran into the site, liked, so thought I'd join. Scouting the eagles. defense allows 236 in the air per game. Opponents convert 42% of 3rd downs. Their offense is obviously scary. 4 or 5 guys to key, and 2 or 3 on any given play. Don't count on them passing more than 10 times although they did win against Chatt on the 2 point conversion via pass. While on the topic of passing-our secondary: what the heck is 10, McRae still starting for? He is terrible. Thoughts?

First off, welcome and thanks for stopping by! Glad you found the site, just getting up and running now so hopefully we will get some new members around here soon.
GSU is a troubling team for a number of reasons. My primary concern is getting off to a quick start. If you get behind early against a good triple option team like Southern, they will just milk that clock and then you're in for a long day. The only game I have seen extended footage of GSU is when they played Chattanooga. Great athletes all over the field but their defense does not scare me quite like I expected. I think we will move the ball and put up points, the issue will be getting their offense off the field.
I'm really not sure what to think about Demetrius McCray. The coaches raved about him all off-season but the production just has not been there. Based on their recent performances, I have to think that Rodger Walker and DeAndre will be playing corner this week with Sanders and McDuffie at safety.
It really will be an interesting match-up. DeAndre has been a DB for about 5 days now, how will be do against the option? It's possible that they give McCray or Joel Ross a shot, since they have experience at the position.

Apphole, good to see you on the board! I am so amped for Black Saturday, should be a great game. I won't lie, I am a little nervous but not nearly as worried as I was 3 weeks ago.
The atmosphere should be pretty insane this weekend, has all the makings of a classic. Let's make their ride back to the trailer park a long one!

While on the topic of passing-our secondary: what the heck is 10, McRae still starting for? He is terrible. Thoughts? I personally like McCray's abilities and support him as I do all our players. Beggers can't be choosers, and with our depleted secondary, that certainly rings true here.

I think Kimbrough makes a big difference against this TO. Losing him against Woffy hurt bad. Most of their big runs were right up the gut. Not calling for a win or a loss, but I think the defense shows better than most think.

The fact that our offense is clicking will help too. If we can put some points on the board early, GSU may be forced to pass the ball more than they'd like which could help prevent our defense from staying on field for 5 or 6 minutes at a time.
